We’ve all been there. That moment in conversation, online, or simply alone with our thoughts, where the urge to stray from our faith feels overwhelming. A believer on a similar path recently shared this very struggle. 1 Corinthians 6:19 reminds us, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;”
This powerful verse highlights the sacred space we carry within. The Holy Spirit, a gift from God, resides in us. Imagine the Holy Spirit, ever-present, listening to our thoughts, witnessing our actions, and yearning to nourish our spirit. Wouldn’t He, like any guest in a cherished temple, be affected by the environments we choose and the things we consume, both literally and figuratively?
When temptation whispers, remember this: your body, your emotions, your very feelings are subject to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Romans 8:9 declares, “But if the Spirit of God dwells in you, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit.” By choosing to honor God, we empower the Holy Spirit to work within us, leading us towards a life that reflects His presence.
