We’ve all been there. You’re engrossed in a task, the world fades away, and suddenly – a jolt back to reality with a glaring “low battery” notification. In my case, it happened recently while frantically finishing an email before heading out. Ignoring the warning (perhaps not for the first time!), I continued typing. But just as I hit “send,” my laptop sputtered and died, leaving me staring at a black screen hoping the email draft was saved.
This seemingly mundane experience sparked a deeper reflection. It mirrored the scripture in Matthew 24:36, where Jesus reminds us, “But about that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Just like my laptop’s sudden shutdown, we don’t know when our time on earth will come to an end.

The low battery notification served as a powerful reminder: am I living each day with the same urgency I reserve for those last-minute tasks? Am I fully charged with the love and message of Christ, ready to share it with those around me?
The “could’ve-should’ve-would’ves” that plague us after a missed opportunity won’t help when the battery truly runs out. Life is short, and the world desperately needs the transformative power and love of Jesus.
Here’s the challenge, fellow connected wanderers: Let’s not wait for a digital low battery warning to jolt us into action. Let’s live each day with intentionality, sharing the Gospel message with boldness and compassion, especially with those who haven’t yet experienced the joy of salvation.
Remember, the greatest legacy we can leave behind is the lives touched by the light of Christ shining through us. So, let’s plug into the ultimate power source – our faith – and live each day with a full charge, ready to illuminate the world around us.
